Nepali Asare Song
Countless myths are tied to the months of Asar and Saun. Asar is seen as the season of sowing and growth — a time when rice is planted, and those tiny seedlings sprout into something more. Across the country, rice transplantation happens in this period. In many places, during the planting season, women working in the fields, plowmen, young people and barn-workers all come together — singing “Asare bhaka” folk songs, filling the air with their voices. In this case, the particular Asare song is sung in Nuwakot.
